The backcountry is a beautiful place, but sometimes things can unexpectadly happen. Leaving an individual lost or injured. Sometimes rescues and recoveries happen quickly, sadly, it is not always the case. We are a single K9 team, combining backcountry training and experience, to respond to missing individuals in wilderness and suburban settings, after initial SAR teams have completed operations. We are a dedicated to assisting the best we can; because we believe that a trained handler + K9 is a resource.

We are trained and able to deploy a trailing K9 during SAR operations if permission is granted by law enforcement of deploying agency. Trailing K9s are the most effective if utilized within hours of a person missing. Time is of the essence as well as scene preservation.

K9 Laz- English Black Lab(puppy in training)

Laz is a young puppy, nine months old who is learning foundation work to become an area dog. She is currently dealing with a health set back.

Our Story

" Most of my life I have surrounded myself with dogs. Sage was a shelter rescue, a blessing to our family. She is the reason I became deeply passionate for the SAR line of work. I have a strong desire to help others and love for dogs. I believe a trained duo team can make a difference. It has been through a multitude of experiences and setbacks, that I realize some traditional parameters for K9 SAR work don't align with my beliefs, which spurred me to found CROSSING SCENT K9S LIMITED. "
